Best Practices - SecurTrac & Anti-Virus product coexistence
When running SecurTrac on Domino servers, it is common for those same Domino servers to also be running Anti-Virus software.
To ensure both SecurTrac and Anti-Virus software can coexist, follow these recommendations:
Symantec Mail Security for Domino
- Edit the Domino server notes.ini and ensure that the SecurTrac Extension Manager(SctNMgr) is listed after the Symantec Mail Security for Domino Extension Manager(nnem.dll)
- EXTMGR_ADDINS=nnem.dll,SctNMgr
Trend Micro ScanMail Suite for IBM Lotus Domino
- Edit the Domino server notes.ini and ensure that the SecurTrac Extension Manager(SctNMgr) is listed after the Trend ScanMail Suite for IBM Lotus Domino Extension Manager(SMDext)
- EXTMGR_ADDINS=SMDext,SctNMgr
McAfee Groupshield for IBM Lotus Domino
- Edit the Domino server notes.ini and ensure that the SecurTrac Extension Manager(SctNMgr) is listed before the McAfee Groupshield for IBM Lotus Domino Extension Manager(McAfeeEm)
- EXTMGR_ADDINS=SctNMgr,McAfeeEm
Important Note: If the recommended configurations noted above are not implemented, SecurTrac and/or the Anti Virus software may not work as expected.
